Navigating Catania Airport Like a VIP

Fontanarossa handles 10 million passengers a year. Here is how to move through it without feeling like one of them.

Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA) is Sicily's busiest gateway. During peak summer months, the terminal can feel overwhelming. With the right preparation, it does not have to be.

Arrival

International flights arrive at Terminal A. After passport control (EU citizens: automated gates; non-EU: manual counters -- allow 15 minutes), luggage appears on one of four carousels. The exit leads directly to the arrivals hall.

Your GIORIZZ chauffeur monitors your flight in real time. If you land 20 minutes early, they are already there. If your flight is delayed by two hours, they adjust without a call from you. Look for the personalised name board in the arrivals hall -- it will be the most professionally presented sign you see.

The Meet and Greet

Our standard service includes a 60-minute complimentary wait from the moment your flight lands. Your chauffeur assists with luggage and walks you to the vehicle, parked in the premium short-stay area. Within five minutes of meeting, you are seated in a climate-controlled cabin with chilled water and a route to your destination already programmed.

Departure

For departures, your chauffeur drops you at the terminal entrance. For flights before 6:00 AM, we recommend booking the previous evening with a predawn pickup -- the roads are empty and the drive is remarkably peaceful.

Airport Tips

  • Wi-Fi: Free for 2 hours, decent speed
  • Lounge: VIP Lounge Fontanarossa (Sala Bellini) -- accessible by Priority Pass or EUR 35
  • Food: Avoid the post-security restaurants; eat before you arrive
  • Transfer time: Allow 55 minutes to Taormina, 50 minutes to Syracuse, 15 minutes to Catania centre

Book Your Airport Transfer

GIORIZZ covers all four Sicilian airports: Catania (CTA), Palermo (PMO), Trapani (TPS), and Comiso (CIY). Every transfer includes flight tracking, meet and greet, and a 60-minute grace period.
